Meet & Greet with Rob Tiffany–Mobile Strategist @Microsoft
Next week I have a great opportunity to meet Rob Tiffany Mobile Strategist at Microsoft. I virtually met Rob on Twitter as we both share the passion of Microsoft Technology and in particular mobile platform(s).
Microsoft Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) is Here
The occasion to catch-up is an article Rob wrote recently Microsoft Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) is Here which outlines Microsoft EMM solution based on Windows Server 2012 R2, System Center 2012 Configuration Manager R2 and Windows Intune. It’s a great article which describes each component and capabilities of Microsoft EMM solution.
Mobile is eating the world
The rise and importance of mobile computing as the future workspace is irreversible development which will be a hot topic which engages many boardrooms. By increasing market share of mobile platforms it significant influences company’s mobile strategy and corporate IT policy. This is underlined by a presentation Mobile is eating the world of Benedict Evans.
Over the years Microsoft added support for managing new clients as dictated by their market share and customer requests. Managing the growing variety of mobile devices roaming on wireless data networks via our Windows Intune cloud gateway allows you to leverage 20 years of SCCM “know-how” instead of purchasing point solutions. You’ll get the massive scalability you’re looking for as well as the support and sustained engineering you’ve come to count on from Microsoft.
Gartners MQ for EMM
May this year Gartner released the MQ for Mobile Device Management (MDM) software but Microsoft wasn’t on the list as they did not meet Garners criteria (Cross Platform, Complexity of Data & Delivery) – which is remarkable in my opinion. That was for me the reason to outline a product comparison of the current 4 market leaders by Gartner and Microsoft.
